Twelve Irritated Men Reflection Essay

In the play Twelve Furious Men by Reginald Increased, juries with very different opinions about life, society and individuals try to reach a judgement in a murder trial had been the defendant, a of sixteen year old youngster from a bad neighborhood, can be sentenced to the death penalty for charges of initial degree homicide. In the astonishingly entertaining but inaccurate characterization of what are the results in the court room, the juries do everything from re-creating a witness's testimony to looking over, as well as touching, facts from the circumstance. As the play moves along, it is generally clear the fact that rights of society happen to be put initial then the privileges of the individual. In conclusion the privileges of culture and the specific are not very well balanced. A lot of the jurors had been already set on declaring the boy guilt ridden at the beginning of all their discussion mainly because they believed it was the best thing to do intended for the good in the majority before analyzing all of the facts as well as the testimonies and evidence of the trial.

An example of this is when the 3rd juror the comment towards the second juror on how the lawyers just kept chatting and talking and discussing during the trial but then the 2nd juror responses that they were " entitled to”. The 3rd juror responds by saying, " Sure they are. Everyone deserves a reasonable trial. […. ] sometimes I think wish better off whenever we took these tough children and slammed 'em down before they make trouble” (Rose 7). Here the third juror says that even though the accused deserved a reasonable trial, world was best if the falsely accused were only taken care of without much trouble. The rights of society will be clearly place first then the rights with the boy that is being tried. By expressing this, the third juror signifies that he would have the Nation defy all the rights of one person just to have a person who has become accused of murder out of the streets intended for the good of society. Even if the defendant was guilty or not they might give him anything at all he had the right to and lock him away from society to protect the...
