In Margaret Laurence's The Diviners, Morag Gunn's have difficulties for female self-representation can be considered she publishes articles about her life. This is certainly shown through Morag's desires for lust and profanity, that which females should keep hidden. Furthermore, Morag fractures social restrictions by producing her story from the feminine perspective. Finally, Laurence enables the reader to be sympathetic to get Morag as she is marginalized in a mostly male contemporary society.
